About
Who We Are
Conejo Valley Homeschoolers, or CVH, is a nonprofit 501(c)(7) homeschool support and social group, run solely by parent volunteers of current and past CVH member homeschoolers. We are accepting of all homeschool styles and religious faiths. We are a community in which homeschooling grows and flourishes, and to bring this about, we offer opportunities for socializing and making connections through positive group experiences. We encourage our families to use common sense, everyday courtesy and mutual respect in our interactions, so that together we may create a truly supportive homeschooling community.
We are not a school and we do not offer a curriculum. What we do offer are socialization opportunities for parents and children, plus activities we homeschoolers have a hard time doing on our own. Some of these activities are park days, enrichment classes, fairs, performances, field trips and exciting and fun events. We also have special teen events including a fall dance and prom.
History
Conejo Valley Homeschoolers was started by Sandra Katz in 1997 in order to provide a homeschooling community for her family. Since that time her original vision for this group has exceeded all her expectations. Blossoming to over 150 families, CVH continues to be a thriving group full of social and educational opportunities to fill the various needs of all its members.
